 2 degrees

Keeping our climate from increasing no more than 2 degrees celcius this century is looking increasingly unlikely. The rate of action is just not quick enough. Scientist are now talking about a possible 4 degrees rise by the end of this century.
4 degrees may not sound much but it is a drastic change.

Here are some articles about it

The ABC: Life at 4 degrees

"Turn Down the Heat" Why a 4 degrees Warmer World must be avoided"
A World Bank publication by the Potsdam Institute on the effects of such a change.

It's worth noting that the "CO2 equivalent"  (CO2-e) measurment is about 478 ppm for a CO2 of about 392ppm. This measurment adds the other Green House gases into it.
