​We have installed all available sugar glides nesting boxes and are not taking any more enquires at this time.

Help us save the Sugar gliders

We're currently looking for more backyards to install nesting boxes in the Plenty River East Area including St Helena, Greenhills, Briar Hill, Montmorency, Lower Plenty, part of Greensborough and Eltham North. Visit our VPO1 Area to find out more or you can send us an email at [email protected]. Alternatively contact the Eltham Men’s shed via their web site and ask for a box. ​

​Having a nesting box installed in your garden
Thank your for your interest in the Banyule Sugar Glider Project. Having gliders in your garden is a real treat. However there is a lot involved so this volunteer run project asks each host for a contribution of $34 towards the sugar glider nesting box.  The amount includes the 
  • Nesting box at cost price ($34)
  • Box installation
  • Two visits a year to inspect your box and to share our findings with you
  • A small plaque is also provided to promote that you are part of this volunteer project
  • Three native trees that sugar glider enjoy
